Grounding Spans
OpenSAFR extension: source-linked spans showing which client-record fields support each claim in an agent's rationale.
Grounding spans are an OpenSAFR extension, not part of the SAFR whitepaper. They were first used in the cross-border private banking implementation, where the Evidence Quality control feeds the Disposition Engine and relationship managers see which client-record fields support each claim.
Known limitation: grounding catches unsupported claims, not flawed reasoning over true facts.
This term is an OpenSAFR extension. It is not defined in the SAFR whitepaper.
